Pasakos is an Australian artist whose practice is centred on the landscapes of Melbourne Docklands and its surrounding industrial environments. His work draws inspiration from the artist’s view of place, in which structural elements such as cranes, warehouses, wharves, lines, shapes, colour, texture, and atmosphere serve as the starting point for visual exploration. It is through seeing and observing these everyday forms that imagination and conceptual development begin, creating the spark that transforms environment into artwork.
Much of Pasakos’ childhood was spent around the Docklands precinct, and these memories continue to inform his practice. Themes of home, identity, and belonging are present throughout the work, shaped by both personal experience and his Greek heritage. His images often move beyond literal representation into works that can feel surreal, atmospheric, and psychologically charged.
Rich colour, shifting light, and strong compositional structures are often used to evoke mystery and mood, at times leaning into darker emotional spaces that offer personal insight into the artist’s inner world.
