James Pasakos is an Australian artist whose core works feature scenes of the Melbourne Docklands and its surrounding industrial sites. Pasakos in recent times has been able to explore new media and concepts to further his artistic journey.
His childhood was largely spent around the areas of the Docklands of Melbourne and these images are reflected in his work. Themes of home, identity and belonging are explored as his Greek heritage, and culture allows him to. The works can also be seen as surreal and atmospheric. They are often rich in colour and evoke a sense of mystery, they can be quite dark, and this brings personal insight to the artist.
Pasakos has had numerous solo & group exhibitions and has artworks in various collections throughout Australia. His methods at the University
were in Printmaking, Drawing and Mixed Media.
Current for 2022: IMPACT12, Bristol, UK: Solo Exhibition - Merging and Metamorphosis
